Specialised toothpaste is required during orthodontic treatment for a variety of reasons. The brackets of braces tend to harbour bacteria and make it harder to remove dental plaque during tooth brushing as certain areas become hard to reach. If harmful bacteria is not efficiently removed around the brackets, there will be a higher risk of developing gum disease and dental tooth decay. Braces also tend to cause some irritations in the mouth.
OrthoKIN Strawberry Mint Toothpaste offers the perfect combination of ingredients to remove bacteria that tends to build up around braces, while also offering support and strength to gum tissue and teeth. Cetylpyridinium Chloride is the antiseptic used to control bacterial levels around orthodontic braces. It is safe for daily use, non-staining and offers effective plaque control to prevent gum disease.
The Fluoride content (1450 ppm F-) strengthens enamel and makes teeth more resistant to tooth decay, which is especially important in brace wearers.
The formula also contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E which offer soothing, regenerating and tissue-strengthening properties to the gums. This is especially important as gums may become irritated during treatment.
